Vintage Wooden Knitting Needle Box with Sliding Lid - Various Needles Included - Vintage Haberdashery

There are some vintage finds that make you smile before you have even opened them, this is absolutely one of them.

A wonderful vintage red wooden knitting needle case with a smooth sliding lid - and what a lid it is.

The top features a beautifully hand-painted folk art illustration of a lady knitting - settled contentedly in her high-backed chair, wearing her blue dress and spotty blouse, spectacles perched on her nose, completely absorbed in her work.

Above her, a little window with its curtain drawn back. The whole scene painted in the most lovely simple, warm style - full of charm and character.

Inside, the box is filled with a wonderful collection of vintage knitting needles in various sizes - a proper working collection, ready to use or to display as the charming piece of haberdashery history it truly is.

The box itself is a generous length, well made in solid painted wood, and the sliding lid moves smoothly. There is the natural character of age throughout - this is a piece that has clearly been loved and used - and that is entirely part of its appeal.

A truly joyful piece of vintage craft history - the kind of thing a knitter will absolutely fall in love with on the spot.

One piece. Once it is gone, it is gone.
