A quite extraordinary vintage Delft blue and white ceramic teapot - and one of the most unusual and spectacular forms you will ever come across.
The body is a large flattened disc raised on a slender pedestal foot, decorated all over in exquisite hand-painted Delft blue and white.
The face of the disc carries a large circular cartouche of full-blown roses and trailing foliage against a fine diamond lattice background with fan floral motifs throughout. The neck, pedestal, and conical ceramic stopper - fitted with its original cork - are each decorated with their own hand-painted floral panels.
The bold scrolling handle is a piece of art in its own right.
Every inch of this piece has been painted with real care and skill.
A genuinely collectable piece of vintage Delft artistry.
One piece. Once it is gone, it is gone.
