The form is wonderfully sculptural - a gently tapered cone shape with a series of deeply lobed, swirling curves running from the flat base up to the scalloped open top, creating the most beautiful undulating silhouette.

The exterior glaze is a warm, rich cream, smooth and glossy, with the natural ivory warmth that only genuine aged Shelley china carries.

The interior is a brilliant white - clean, crisp and in fabulous condition - with the interior moulded pattern of swirling organic forms clearly defined and ready to set the most spectacular jelly, blancmange or panna cotta.

A piece like this is equally at home used - as it was always intended - or displayed as the genuinely beautiful object it is.
