Viki's fused glass work is genuinely like nothing else - each piece a miniature masterpiece of skill, artistry and the most extraordinary detail. And this one - this one is truly something special.
"The Herd are on Their Way Home" is a wide, cinematic fused glass panel alive with the most glorious African sunset. The sky blazes in swirling layers of deepest red, burning orange and molten gold - glass fused and fired until it glows like the real thing.
A great bold disc of black glass sits in the sky like the setting sun, heavy and dramatic on the horizon. Birds wheel overhead in perfect silhouette.
And below, the family makes their way home - mama elephant leading, her long trunk swaying, followed by the rest of the herd in a perfect procession, the little ones tucked safely in the middle, their shapes crisp and clear against that burning sky.
To the right, a magnificent acacia tree reaches upward, every branch and twig rendered in perfect black glass against the orange glow - the most iconic of all African silhouettes, immortalised here forever in glass. 🌳
The glass is presented in a beautifully crafted wooden stand, held in place by two neat steel pins - ready to display the moment it arrives.
