Viki's fused glass work is genuinely like nothing else - each piece a miniature masterpiece of colour, texture and extraordinary detail. And "A Walk in the Meadow" is perhaps the most immersive, magical piece she has created yet.
Set within a beautiful white box frame, the scene draws you in completely. From the vivid lime green meadow base - alive with sparkling glass and scattered dark dewdrop beads - slender wiggly green stems rise and sway, each one crowned with the most exquisite little glass globe flower: a deep glossy navy, a soft blush pink Murrine glass bud, a warm orange sphere, a delicate pale yellow bloom, a soft lavender head, a tiny crimson poppy red globe - every one different, every one utterly perfect.
And look closer still . . . tucked amongst the blooms, the most charming little surprise is waiting to be found - a perfectly formed little ladybird.🐞 One of those details that makes you smile every single time you spot it.
In the upper corner, a spectacular explosion of the most extraordinary hydrangea-like bloom bursts across the white glass ground - a cloud of teal, cobalt blue and deep navy glass fragments shimmering and swirling together like a firework frozen at the moment of its most beautiful. 🌸
